We would like to kindly invite you to the upcoming workshop titled Enhancing international education: improving interaction between domestic and international students, which will be held in collaboration with the Mestenhauser Institute for International Collaboration on Thursday, October 24, from 14:00 to 17:00.
This workshop will focus on practical strategies for effectively supporting interaction between domestic and international students. The aim is to equip you with specific tools that can be used in both online and face-to-face teaching.
Workshop structure:
- Opening student panel - First-hand experiences of student engagement across different cultures.
- Interactive presentation - A mix of lecture and Q&A, allowing for active participation.
- Discussion and networking - 30 minutes dedicated to exchanging ideas and building connections.
Speakers:
- Dr. Shanton Chang - Professor of Information Behaviour and Information Systems at the School of Computing and Information Systems, The University of Melbourne, and serves on the Advisory Board of the Mestenhauser Institute for International Collaboration. He has extensive experience in international education, including student recruitment, teaching across cultures, and international education strategy. He also holds the role of Associate Dean (International) at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology.
- Dr. Eva Janebova - Founding Director of the Mestenhauser Institute for International Collaboration. As an expert in international higher education, she provides support to universities in the EU, with a particular emphasis on the internationalization of the curriculum and leadership. Eva serves on the International Education Advisory Board of Morgan State University and teaches at Palacky University.
