DZS assists with help to Ukrainian students and researchers

We have agreed on coorditated approach in providing support to students and academics from Ukraine.

A coordinated approach in providing support to students and academics from Ukraine has been agreed upon between our agency (DZS), the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic.

"Cooperation among the stakeholders is crucial for the assistance to universities and research institutions to be really effective. Therefore, I truly appreciate the initiative of the Education Ministry and the Office of the Government to coordinate our support for Ukrainian students and researchers and to provide maximum use of resources in addressing the current situation," said Michal Uhl, Director of DZS.

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport will allocate 150 million Czech crowns to support Ukrainian students. Additional funding will be provided by individual universities. Scholarship offers and other university assistance will be available on studyin.cz/ukraine.

"We thank Czech universities not only for their responsiveness to the needs of Ukrainian students, who are in a difficult situation due to the war, but also for the speed with which they have offered their help," noted Jakub Tesař, the Head of the Department for Internationalisation in the Czech Republic.

Ukrainian researchers can find general information and links to work opportunities at Czech research institutions on researchin.cz.

Both websites are being gradually updated with new information and a translation into Ukrainian is underway. We are also working on promoting the sites to Ukrainian students and researchers.
