Projects and grants
The focus of funding is on activities that address topics of bilateral and regional interest for current developments and/or future development scenarios of both states and/or their historical roots.
In 1992, Austria and Czechoslovakia signed a bilateral agreement which launched the programme AKTION. Since 1993, after the establishment of the independent Czech Republic, the AKTION Austria - Czech Republic has contributed to the development and strengthening of scientific and pedagogical cooperation between universities and other higher education institutions.
In July 2023, both countries signed a new work programme for the 7th phase (2024-2028).
