The fourth programme period of the EEA Grants (2021–2028) builds on previous cooperation in the field of education while responding to the current challenges of the Czech education system and to the priorities arising from the Memorandum of Understanding between the Czech Republic and the donor states (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein), approved by the Government of the Czech Republic in November 2025.
The total allocation of the programme is significantly higher than in previous periods, in total EUR 24.117 million (EUR 20.5 million from the EEA Grants and EUR 3.617 million from national co-financing). Mandatory cooperation with a partner from a donor state is a key element of the programme and contributes to the transfer of know-how, the sharing of experience, and the strengthening of bilateral relations between institutions in the Czech Republic and the donor countries.
The Programme Agreement is expected to be signed in 2026, followed by the launch of the first calls for proposals at the turn of 2026/2027.
