|Working together for a green, competitive and inclusive Europe|
The main objective of the Programme Education, which is realised within the EEA Grants, is enhanced human capital and knowledge base in the Czech Republic. The Programme contributes to the overall objectives of reducing economic and social disparities within European Economic Area and strengthening bilateral relations between Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein and the Czech Republic. The programme consists of four activities: institutional cooperation projects, mobility projects, VET projects and inclusive education projects.
The Czech Republic has been a recipient of the EEA Grants support since 2004 after joining the European Union and therefore the European Economic Area (EEA) as well. During the previous phases of the EEA and Norway Grants (2004-2009 and 2009-2014), a total contribution of 243 mil. euro for projects were granted, out of which more than 6 mil. euro were allocated to the education sector. You can find a list of education projects realized in 2009-2014 here. The Memorandum of Understanding for the current third programming period of the EEA Grants was officially signed in September 2017. Within the Programme Education is available 6.5 million euro from EEA funds for bilateral projects.
