The programme is intended for master's students, doctoral students and postdocs.

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is launching a new funding programme for green hydrogen research. The programme consists of scholarship opportunities for international research visits and internships in Germany, together with the funding of working groups that will have the task of improving communication between science and industry. The German Ministry of Education and Research has set aside six million euros for the programme until 2025.

Green hydrogen research is essential for the decarbonisation of the steel and chemical industries, aviation, traffic and shipping. It is a key element of a sustainable European transformation with high potential for the future export value of hydrogen itself. This new programme responds to these issues as well as the Strategic Research Agenda from last year, focused on green hydrogen.

You can sign up for the currently running call until February 28, 2023.

As part of the programme, four working groups will also be created, which will serve as a tool for international cooperation of various actors, a tool for identifying new technologies and for simplifying the dissemination of research results. The four working groups will focus on: production, infrastructure and transport, market stimulation and cross-cutting topics.
