Call for International Higher Education Experts

Study in Czechia

We are launching a Call for experts for the Monitoring Internationalisation of Czech Higher Education (MICHE) project.

Under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, the Czech National Agency for International Education and Research (DZS) has been monitoring and evaluating internationalisation at higher education institutions through the MICHE project with the goal of strengthening internationalisation at the institutional level and providing policy makers with information on the current state and development of internationalisation.

Since the inception of MICHE in 2018, a team of international higher education experts has visited 12 Czech universities (a consolidated summary of the experts’ findings, major points, and trends is available in the National Report). The monitoring consists of a multi-stage process including self-evaluation, expert visits and interviews, Action Plans, consultations and feedback loop, and national and institutional level reports and recommendations. In 2021, we plan to continue the mentioned process with additional higher education institutions and place a special focus on their involvement in the European Universities Initiative.

We are now looking to broaden our expert pool and are seeking experts with relevant expertise in the field of internationalisation in higher education. Experience related to strategic management and internationalisation in higher education is essential. A thorough understanding of the European Universities’ Initiative is required. Practical experience with monitoring processes and knowledge of the Czech higher education environment are an advantage.

During the year, experts can expect to spend up to 3 weeks on site visits (in person or online depending on the current pandemic measures), prepare reports, give feedback and suggestions to set specific goals and improvements in the area of internationalisation and set up or alter the monitoring methodology to reflect the universities’ focus or involvement in university alliances. Experts receive remuneration for each institution assessed.

Interested candidates are invited to send their CV and brief motivation letter to jakub.tesar@dzs.cz until March 30, 2021. The selection process will be conducted by DZS in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports in April. Don’t hesitate to contact us for more information!
