Apply for the first edition of the European Prize for Humanitarian Innovation

Applications can be submitted between 21 March and 3 October 2023.

The European Commission has launched the first edition of the European Prize for Humanitarian Innovation, which is one of the 5 prizes supported by the European Innovation Council as part of the Horizon Europe program. The prizes will be awarded to organizations and companies that have developed and are implementing innovative and technological solutions for the delivery of humanitarian aid. Solutions must be cost-effective and easily reusable and can come from different humanitarian aid sectors (for example: nutrition, disaster risk reduction, emergency shelters and settlements, or food security).

There will be 3 prizes awarded. The winner will receive 250 000 EUR. Runners-up who place 2nd and 3rd will receive 150 000 EUR and 100 000 EUR. Projects will be evaluated by an independent panel of experts based on 4 criteria. Companies, humanitarian organizations and other legal entities established in one of the EU member states or countries associated to Horizon Europe program can apply for the competition.

Applications can be submitted between 21 March and 3 October 2023.

You can find the rules of contest on the website of the European Innovation Council. An online session will be held for those who are interested on 23 May. Registration for the event will open in April.
