There are scholarship programmes enabling foreigners to undertake full-length university studies or shorter study stays at public universities in the CR on the basis of foreign development cooperation or bilateral international agreements on cooperation in the education sector.
Who is the programme intended for?
Scholarships are intended for university students or graduates and doctoral students (exceptionally also university research or teaching staff), who wish to complete a study or research stay at a Czech public university. The scholarships do not apply to summer language courses.

How do I apply?
Candidates for scholarships are nominated exclusively by the competent authorities of the country concerned, and only they can submit applications.
For how long?
The length of a scholarship-funded stay generally varies from 2 to 10 months.

Scholarships for study in the Czech Republic provided under the foreign development cooperation programme
Within the context of foreign development cooperation, the Czech Republic offers scholarships to foreigners for a standard period of study in accredited university study programmes provided at public universities, and for courses in the Czech language and vocational preparation.

Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Ethiopia, Cambodia, Moldova, Ukraine, Zambia
Who is the programme intended for?
The scholarship programme is intended for foreigners without permanent residence in the Czech Republic, who are nationals of one of the above-named states receiving foreign development aid from the Czech Republic, and who meet the conditions set out in the Schema for the award of scholarships by the government of the Czech Republic.
Scholarships are awarded for a standard period of study in a master’s study programme in Czech continuing on from a one-year Czech language and professional training course, and for study in master’s and doctoral study programmes conducted in English.
How do I apply?

Scholarships for the 2021/2022 academic year can be applied for from 20 July, 2020. Each candidate is required to submit an electronic application form no later than 30 September.

The completed application form will be sent to the relevant Czech embassy electronically when online registration is completed.

The most successful candidates will be invited to submit complete documentation by the deadline set by the relevant Czech Embassy to ensure that the applications, along with the necessary documents, are available to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports no later than 31 December of the year preceding study.

Candidates residing in the Czech Republic at the time of application submission may submit the relevant documentation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Department of Development Cooperation, no later than 20 December of the year preceding study.
For how long?
Scholarships are awarded for a standard period of study in master’s study programmes in Czech, preceded by a one-year Czech language and professional training course, and for study in master’s and doctoral study programmes conducted in English.
