Science, research and innovation performance of the EU 2026

On 1 October 2026, a launch event for the Science, Research and Innovation Performance of the EU (SRIP) 2026 report will take place in Brussels, providing an up-to-date overview of the state of European research, science and innovation. The programme will present the key findings of the new report and facilitate a discussion on their implications for the European Union’s future competitiveness, innovation capacity and scientific standing. The event will bring together representatives from the European Commission, academia, industry and international organisations. The programme will also feature an opening lecture by Philippe Aghion, winner of the 2025 Nobel Prize in Economics.
