The EU Advanced Materials Ecosystem
On 23 September 2026, the EU Advanced Materials Ecosystem conference will take place in Brussels, presenting the findings of three new studies on advanced materials and supporting discussions on the forthcoming EU Advanced Materials Act. The studies focus on the production and use of advanced materials in Europe, including competitiveness, innovation and sustainability, as well as patenting and commercialisation, and the mapping of research and technology infrastructures, their services, business models, and opportunities to improve access and coordination. The programme will include presentations of the study results, stakeholder discussions and a panel debate chaired by the European Commission. The forthcoming Advanced Materials Act is intended to provide a strategic framework for the development of advanced materials and strengthen the EU’s industrial leadership, strategic autonomy and competitiveness. The event has reached full capacity, but interested participants can still join the waiting list.
