We are happy to invite you to this year’s first Science Café debate: Women Share Science.
The event will take place on February 11, 2025, at the Prague House in Brussels. You can look forward to Vendula Lužná, the popularizer of science, editor of the portal "Science and research" (Věda výzkum) and co-organizer of the project ''Ask a Scientist'' (Zeptej se vědce) from Palacký University Olomouc, Tereza Ormsby, co-founder of the "Ask a scientist" (Zeptej se vědce) portal, and Lucia Ciglar, a science communicator and founder of the "I draw a science" (Kreslim vedu) Instagram profile. The discussion will be moderated by Aleš Vlk, Vice-Dean for External Relations and Development at Charles University and co-founder of the "Science and research" (Věda výzkum) portal.
The debate organized in celebration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science will focus on the importance and role of science communicators in popularizing science. Female scientists and science communicators will share their experiences, present their projects, and discuss the challenges and opportunities for women in the scientific community.
Science Café offers an informal platform where scientists and science enthusiasts from the general public can engage in lively discussions. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and delve into topics that pique their curiosity within the field.
