The European Research Council has published its ERC work program for 2022
On 14 July 2021, the European Research Council (ERC) published its work program for 2022 with an overall budget of more than € 2.4 billion to fund grants for more than 1,100 excellent scientists and scholars. The main novelties are the reopening of the Synergy Grants, which were not open in 2021, but also changes in the description of scientific track record so that it recognizes the true quality of researchers' work and the value and impact of all research outputs.Other innovations include the obligation to introduce gender equality plans. Moreover, it is possible to state in the project application the possible negative impact of the pandemic on the research career, which will be taken into account during the evaluation of projects. The work program also includes a calendar of ERC calls and a budget for each of the calls.
