The European Commission launches an expert group on the impact of pandemic on gender equality in research and innovation. Apply!
The Expert Group will consist of up to 15 people, with a duration of contractof 1 year. Apply until 25 November 2021.
The new Expert Group will be funded under the Horizon Europe Work Programme 2021-2022, under the Widening Participation and Strengthening the ERA. The main tasks of this expert group will be to deliver an in-depth review and analysis of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the containment measures put in place at institutional, national and EU level on gender equality in R&I.
The analysis will take into account the research productivity of women scientists (submission of project proposals, publications, patents, etc.), gender equality in career development, work-life balance (care of family, household and child care) and the impact of home-based work on women scientists' mental health. The expert group will also address the issue of participation in research networks, mobility, barriers to grant applications, etc., as well as the inclusion of a gender dimension in research on COVID-19. The group will also focus on gender-based violence and sexual harassment in the workplace in the context of these new working conditions brought about by the pandemic.
Based on the results of this analysis, the group will then focus on sharing experiences and examples of good practice among R&I stakeholders through several workshops. The expert group should then produce a final report of 100 to 200 pages, presenting the results of the in-depth analysis and the sharing of experiences and good practices in an overview format, and a maximum of two pages of fact sheet on the key findings of the expert group.
