The ERC Scientific Council has taken further measures regarding the pandemic

CZELO

The ERC Scientific Council is aware of the negative impact of the pandemic on scientific institutions and researchers, especially the young ones and mainly young women, and has therefore together with the Gender Working Group proposed further action on the COVID-19 pandemic. They decided to develop a tool to monitor the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the ERC applicants’ research productivity, which should ensure equal opportunities in ERC competitions. In the template for the grant proposals 2022, it will be possible to declare any delays or gaps in scientific productivity related to the COVID-19 pandemic. ERC will provide with clear guidance regarding that and this fact will be explained also in the guidelines for evaluators. The measures will be implemented as of the 2022, since the ERC Work Programme 2021 cannot be changed anymore.
