EIT Urban Mobility published Strategic Agenda for 2021−2027

On 16 April 2021, the Innovative Community EIT Urban Mobility published its Strategic Agenda for 2021−2027. In the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) there are currently eight Innovation Communities and each focuses on a different global societal challenges. The EIT Urban Mobility focuses on smart, green and integrated transport and it aims to achieve the following objectives: improving the quality of life in cities, mitigating and adapting to climate change, creating jobs in the field of urban transport and strengthening the European urban mobility sector.

The Strategic Agenda for the period 2021−2027 defines the objectives, goals and strategic priorities, and outlines how EIT Urban Mobility works towards their realization within all its programme areas. Furthermore, the document gives an overview of the scope of the key actions and activities, mode of operation, how EIT Urban Mobility engages with stakeholders on a local, national, European and global level and how it delivers on impact as well as financial sustainability within the Horizon Europe programming period.

One of the goals for this period is e.g. a greater involvement of citizens in the creative process within the EIT Urban Mobility, by 2027 the citizens should fully participate in. Another goal for this programming period is to increase the number of EIT Urban Mobility partners to 257 by 2022 and to 327 partners by 2027.
