CZELO welcomed a group of eight project managers to Brussels and Antwerp for a Study visit

CZELO

During the CZELO study visit, Czech project managers from eight institutions explored Belgian universities and EU institutions.

The week-long CZELO professional study trip, focusing on research for project managers, took place in Brussels from 13 to 17 October 2025. During the study visit, participants attended a series of thematic meetings with representatives of EU institutions, Belgian universities, and the CEPS (Centre for European Policy Studies) think tank based in Brussels.

The program included meetings with representatives of the European Research Council Executive Agency (ERCEA) and the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA), a representative of the COST program, and a research attaché from the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the EU. Discussions focused not only on Czech participation in the Widening program and the evaluation of Horizon Europe projects, but also on developments in the New European Bauhaus initiative and the Digital Europe program. The study trip was complemented by a visit to the University of Antwerp (Universiteit Antwerpen), where participants learned about the functioning of the university´s grant office and project team support systems, as well as a meeting with Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB, the Flemish University in Brussels).

The main aim of the professional internship was to strengthen the professional competencies of the participants, to present the functioning of project offices at Belgian universities, and to discuss the upcoming Framework Program for Research and Innovation (FP10).
