CZELO invites you to its Science Café on mental health

CZELO

Czech Liaison Office for Education and Research (CZELO) and its partners are pleased to invite you to the Science Café with Tomáš Rektor, an unconventional open discussion focused on the topic of mental health in the aftermath of COVID-19, taking place on 22 September 2021. Along with the health impacts of the disease, COVID-19 has led to self and social isolation resulting in more people than ever experiencing feelings of helplessness, isolation, grief, anxiety, and depression. Now with restrictions finally lifting, we are entering a ‘new’ normal. For many this means returning to the office and this can bring increased anxiety from worrying about catching the virus or relearning how to live our pre-COVID lives. How to adjust to the new normal and what will be the main challenges?

Our distinguished guest will be Tomáš Rektor, a leading Czech psychiatrist, psychotherapist and psychoanalytic in training. He graduated from the Masaryk University in Brno. He is a founder of TERAPIE.INFO, s.r.o, which provides comprehensive service in mental health care in connection with other medical disciplines.

The evening will be moderated by Luiza Beirão Campos, a marine biologist and a science communicator currently working at the European Science Communication Institute (ESCI).

Science Café is a forum for discussion of current work and interesting scientific issues. It aims to be informal and accessible. Anyone can participate; speaker is there to be questioned and to talk about his work.

Regsitration is open until 20 September 2021 via this link.

Science Café is jointly organized by the CZELO, Czech Centre Brussels, Representation of the South Moravian Region to the EU and Delegation of Prague to the EU.
