European Commission has announced a list of participants selected for the pilot project for Partnership for Regional Innovation. In total, there are 63 regions, seven cities and four Member States. The participants come from 23 Member States. The aim of the pilot action is for participants to share best practices and jointly develop and test tools to mobilize different sources of funding and policies. Finally, the pilot action aims to connect national and regional programmes to EU initiatives for green and digital transformation.

Following up on the pilot project, the Joint Research Center (JRC) has published a Partnerships for Regional Innovation Playbook, which is addressed to project participants. The playbook contains several tools and governance mechanisms to strengthen the coordination of national, regional and EU policies related to twin transition. The playbook also aims to promote best practices, support public administration and the broader innovation ecosystem.
