Apply for a study visit focusing on the international cooperation in higher education in Brussels
Applications are now open for a short-term study visit from between March 24-28, 2025. The application deadline in on January 26.
The study visit is primarily aimed at staff from internationalization departments, project managers from university rectorates, faculties, and departments, as well as other university employees involved in or interested in the internationalization of higher education. It is designed for those looking to deepen their understanding of this topic and improve their expertise.
Over the five-day study visit, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about EU policies on international education, the European Education Area, current strategies, and the functioning of the Erasmus+ program. The visit aims to help participants better understand how European and EU institutions operate and their activities in the field of international education, as well as to facilitate the exchange of experiences between Czech and Belgian (or potentially Dutch and French) higher education institutions. Furthermore, this study visit may assist Czech institutions in finding suitable international partners for future collaboration or in strengthening existing partnerships.
The week-long program will consist of thematic meetings with representatives from EU institutions (e.g., DG EAC, DG EMPL, European Parliament), university delegations and networks based in Brussels, experts from the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the EU, representatives of local universities, and other stakeholders operating in Brussels. Participants will be accompanied throughout the study visit by CZELO office staff. The specific program will be tailored to the profiles of the selected participants and adjusted according to the current situation.
The study visit will take place from March 24 to March 28, with applications accepted until January 26 (inclusive). Candidates will be selected based on a motivation letter, which is part of the registration form in English. Since most of the study visit will be conducted in English, a minimum B2 level of proficiency is required. There are 7 spots available, ideally to be filled by representatives from different institutions. Applicants will be informed of the results no later than two weeks after the application deadline.
Prior to the study visit, a preparatory webinar will be held to provide participants with detailed information about the program, meeting agendas, and expectations for a smooth experience. All participants are expected to actively engage, share experiences from their university, and participate in discussions.
Participation in the study visit is free of charge; however, travel and accommodation expenses must be covered by the sending institution or participant. Please note that the expenses cannot be funded under Erasmus+ staff mobility.
