EEA Grants Log

What are the programme’s objectives?

The objectives of the programme Education are enhanced human capital and knowledge base in the Czech Republic, reduced social and economic disparities within the EEA and strengthened bilateral relations with Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.

The programme Education supports projects of schools and other educational institutions focused on modernisation and innovation of teaching and learning. The involved schools can also exchange their pupils, students and staff in the form of study visits or teaching stays. During four calls, 107 projects were supported, with a total allocation almost 7 million euros.

The Czech Republic has been a beneficiary of the EEA Grants since 2004 when it joined the European Union and thus also the European Economic Area. Within the two previous periods (2004-2009 and 2009-2014), projects worth almost 243 million euros were supported, out of which more than 6 million euros were allocated to education.
